We help patients develop, improve, and recover the skills needed for daily working and living. Most of our patients with permanent disabilities often need assistance with performing day-to-day tasks. This is when our occupational therapists come in – to teach them how to use appropriate adaptive tools/equipment such as eating aids, wheelchairs, leg braces, and more.
Here are the duties of our occupational therapists:
- Assess the patient’s condition and needs
- Ask relevant questions and review your medical history
- Develop a treatment plan
- Prepare appropriate activities and specific goals to be accomplished
- Demonstrate exercises to relieve pain and chronic conditions
- Evaluate the patients’ environment and suggest potential improvement
- Provide patient and family education
- Recommend special equipment
- Provide gait training and strength enhancement
